Have you ever wondered what amazing things you've passed by without notice? The little details that fade into the mundane backdrop of your daily life, and the special moments that are lost in a mad rush to beat the clock. Improbable things that were never explored because they were declared impossible. What if I told you there is so much more to the world than the average eye is allowed to see. That if you look hard, there are more wonders in this universe than you could ever have dreamt of. Would you see things differently? Would you see me?

Granted I'm probably not what you would expect a spaceship to look like. You see, I was intended to adapt to my environment, and so I did once upon a time. When we first landed on Earth, I took the appearance of an old police box, commonplace in those days. Then something went wibbly with my chameleon circuit and I've been stuck in that form ever since. However it doesn't seem to matter how out of place I am in my surroundings, I'm still effectively invisible to most everyone around me. Sometimes a passerby stops in their tracks, and I can see the confusion wash over them. But then they quickly brush it off and go about their day. They don't really know that I'm there.

Yet every so often a curious stranger sees past their perception filter, and is inexplicably drawn to the odd blue box that appeared out of thin air. Or at the very least, the strange man who leads them to it. They sense something extraordinary. And they want to become acquainted with it, even if they don't understand why at the time. Of course the realisation usually hits when they step inside and say "It's bigger on the inside!" or some variation thereof. Then off we search for the next adventure. At times I'm seen as unreliable and fickle, much too early or late, but I've always taken my Doctor exactly where he needed to be. Even if he didn't want to go.

We've gone so far, and there's still an endless sea of galaxies to explore. Yet we keep revisiting some old destinations again and again along the way, and I've never tired of any of it. In fact, some of my most treasured memories are of seemingly unremarkable days. But they were more powerful than anyone could have possibly imagined. After all, each of those tiny ordinary moments come together to make up a life, and any one of them can change yours forever. So please don't take them for granted. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant. Hang on tight to your good things, and never lose hope.

In a blink of the eye a day is over, its lovely sunset has faded into black, and you too may feel overwhelmed and left in the dark. But remember to look more closely and see the stars shining for you. Maybe you'll see me up there too.
