Jasmine "Jazz" Conagher came from a family of mechanical engineers that specialized in weapon manufacturing. Following in her father's footsteps, she too became an engineer, but not for weapon design. Instead, she went into biomedical engineering, making functional prosthetics for children who liked to be active. She was happy doing something helpful in the community rather than destructive for the world. She eventually fell in love with a baker and life was going good. However, there was an accident when she was on her way to a conference and she only barely made it. She was saved, but turned into something else entirely. Using her own blueprints and designs, her colleagues were able to bring her back to life, but at a cost. Her brain and heart are the only organic organs she has left, everything else being held together with wires and piping. She runs off a combination of solar power and steam. Her survival of the extensive surgeries became world renown, but she still struggles sometimes with recognizing her own humanity. Her baker still loves her all the same and constantly reminds her of how important and amazing she is.
