Will is the scientist who had pity on Marc was able to make him immunity, which was a lucky coincidence that Will can't replicate, so for the time being Marc happens to be one of the rare immune people.
Will is a brilliant biochemist who was responsible for secret experiments on humans. He never liked it but had no chance to leave the company he worked for (it would have meant his death cause of his knowlege).
