Mareks is a sort of \'mage in training\'. He travels and lives with very few posessions, learning to master his particular magic. Most Harvesters have combat magics which make them great warriors, control over elements like Fire or Wind, power over certain creatures like Dragons, subtler skills like being able to change their form or influence the emotions/minds of others. His skills though are very rare and a source of shame for his family--and consequently he himself is ashamed of it. Mareks is a very capable fighter when it comes to physical combat, and a rather good tactician too, but the only magic he can summon is limmited to healing and the renewal of life. For a Harvester such powers are more a weakness than a strength and he has grown up knowing he is a disgrace to his family. Once he was old enough to officially apprentice to someone he ran away from home--no ranking Harvester would bother with him. He has found a guide to assist him...though at times he wishes they\'d never met.

Lang the Ribbit

Frogs, through many cultures and many time eras, have had a wide range of atributes and lore. They have been seen as plagues and harbingers of good crops. They have been seen as bringers of life, or vessels for the embodiment of evil. Lucky signs or ill omens. Pests and very useful tools. Lang himself shows most of these traits, at some time or another. He has poison to end life and energy to renew it, he is sarcastic and a task-master but can also be lazy and even, very rarely, poetic. His biggest problem is getting his \'apprentice\' to -pay attention-, the \'boy\' focuses too much on what he has not got rather than the skills he does have.
