I start off small and silly, with teeth my humans say are like pointy little needles - they're really good for chomping, too, which is great because it's my favourite thing right now. My people really like it as well, I think; they hop around and make funny noises when I give their ankles a little nip. I wag my tail at them super fast and make my most fierce noises to show them how strong I am. They don't have fur like me; instead they wear fabric all over their weird bald bodies. It's odd, but the fabric stuff is great to chew on! When I tug on their leg-cloths they pick me up and hold me in their arms, which is another one of my favourite things. Cuddles are awesome; my humans might be pink and hairless but they're really snuggly and give me lots of pets. I guess you can't judge them on their appearances, even if they are weird.

When I get a little bigger, my humans take me to something called 'Training Classes'. They're alright, I guess, because I get to meet lots of new dog friends and my people keep giving me biscuits. On the down side, they're trying to make me do stuff. I don't really like doing stuff when people ask me to - it takes all the fun out of it. Sometimes I kind of think it might be a good idea, because the humans start bringing slices of hot dog sausage to bribe me, and that's super tasty. It's not that I'm stupid or nothing; I know exactly what the people are trying to get me to do. I just don't want to do it. Even if it's something I think I kind of maybe want to at first, I can't let my humans get any ideas; I've seen those poor dogs made to jump over stuff and weave through weird sticks. If I obey everything they ask of me, they might get too ambitious - and we can't have that, can we?

'Hucklebutting is a bully thing. It involves running at top speeds, making impossible U-turns around table legs and rearranging cushions. Sometimes whole furniture patterns are rearranged. The dog resembles a snub-nosed torpedo with legs and a twisted sense of direction. It is all part of the "experience."'

As I get older, I realise that some of the humans don't like me very much. Nothing major; just the odd dirty look, or crossing the road to get out of our way on walks. Sometimes they even say mean things about me to my humans. It doesn't particularly bother me though - I don't really get upset about things. Well, apart from not getting my dinner on time, or having my toys taken away (my humans never let me keep any of my best toys; they say dogs shouldn't chew on things they call 'bras'), or when the next door neighbour's cat hisses at me and swats at my nose. My humans are always laughing and saying how they wished they could be more like me - y'know, not bothered by people not liking them. The way I see it, though, is that only my humans matter - all those other ones are just weird and hairless and definitely not nearly as good as my humans.

'It is not a dog I would recommend to just anyone. Keeping up with "the experience" takes a certain energy and you have to have room on your face for a lot of laugh lines, but I have come to know exactly what Bill Brodsky was talking about. As far as I am concerned, one can never have too many brothers.'
