Feels long ago...so long ago...when I was a white dragon, sworn to protect the great city of Yillden. That was, until they betrayed me...betrayed the greatest oath between dragon and mortal.

I killed them all.

I started my path of a cruel black dragon, and never recovered.

The memory remains with me, forever scarring my mind. I should have regrets, but such a feeling does not exist for me...to them at least.

It was about a century before the Earthlings came when I got placed as the Protector of Yillden. I was an adolescent then, but still fully capable of doing my job: keeping the city safe from bandits, armies, and other dragons.

I'd get paid in food, and the occasional sacrifice, and I thought those offerings was a good trade. I keep them safe; they tend to my needs.

I was not a dictator as it was not my job to rule the city, but if the leaders came to me, I gave them my advice.

Then, the Earthlings came. As technologically advanced as Yillden was--far ahead of everyone else--there was no chance of defense. Flying machines were just discovered on my planet, Rynulth, and combat was still based on skills of Physical and Magical properties. There was no chance for a country to defend from obvious Supremacy.

The Earthlings went through Rynulth with a great Blitzkrieg. One-by-one, cities fell, countries burned, and the only place to survive was to surrender to the "Imperial Nations of Earth."

They just demanded one thing in return: the dragons of the city. It was something about Immortality, but white dragons do not come with such a gene.

Just as a black dragon, once we mate, our we are vulnerable, which is why out of a litter of whites, one is the celibate protector, while the rest....prepare for the next one.

Yillden agreed to the Imperial's demands....and that is the beginning. For the safety of the planet, I went on a rampage.

Every living thing that was not out of the city was destroyed. Every man, woman, and child's life was snuffed from my claws, or the clashing of my jaws.

The flow of warm blood as my jaws clamped onto their heads still linger, and I'll tell you: there was a lot of blood.

The ruins of Yillden drowned in its own blood. As a final warning to all, I cursed the area. The blood will never evaporate...it shall remain pooled over Yillden forever.

Years passed, and the story was forgotten how, or why this unfamiliar lake of blood was created. More centuries will pass before my message will be heard.

As for me...I have been captured centuries after becoming a full black dragon. Though, the race that holds me, in the clouded city of Llyeta, refuses to have me executed...though they will not feed me either.

They just wait, for another Rynulth is to reach another dark era, just like one that happened before my birth, and for some reason...they think the new "Hero" for this era will appear....and I am to be his dragon.

I am highly doubtful...but...Part of me wants to believe them.
