"...Kelpie..." The blond man was frowning as he stared down inside the box in his hand. The box had been flat and long, tied with a bright red ribbon. It had been thrust into his arms only minutes before, after he had opened the door to a certain, hyperactive blond. He glanced up from the blindingly bright contents of the box to glance at the blond girl. She had been smiling moments before, but her smile had begun to fade when she noticed he wasn't smiling as well.
"Is something wrong?"Kelpie asked in a small voice. He could have kicked himself at that moment, watching the happy light fading from her eyes. He hesitated for a moment.
"It's yellow" Alucard said by means of explanation. He glanced back down inside the box at the garment. It was a bright yellow sheet of cloth, cut into the form of a cloak. It was cut very well, and made of a light, soft material. It was beautiful, yes. But. . .It was yellow.
"Of course it is!"Kelpie said, a smile settling back on her face now that she realized he wasn't upset about anything important. "I know you usually only wear red and blue and purple, but those are such dark colors. I thought you needed something to brighten up your wardrobe!"
"Kelp-" Alucard started, but the girl cut him off.
"I made it myself, 'Card. I used my flowers for the color" Kelpie said. She cocked her head in a universal sign of confusion. "Don't you like it?"
"I..." Alucard trailed off, looking at his lover and wife. He glanced down at the cloak, but couldn't bring himself to tell her he didn't like it. He sighed to himself and nodded with a weak smile."It's beautiful, Kelpie."
