Background: Cosmo and Ember used to live in a city in the clouds. It was a big city, and at the time they lived there, they didn't know each other.
What neither of them realized was that most of the creatures in the city were not really pets; they appeared as pets, but they were demons. The few real pets in the city were enthralled to see the demons as fellow pets.
One day, the demons decided to expel all the real pets from the city. The real pets now saw that the ones they believed to be their lovers, family, and close friends, were really demons. The real pets were betrayed by their friends and cast down into hell. The name of this hell was Earth.
When Ember was cast down into hell by her own friends, disillusionment stripped all her goodness and light away from her, and she turned to dark matter.
On her wanderings through hell, she met Cosmo, MoonlightShadow, and others. However, she is very wary of getting close to anyone and considers no one to be her friend.
