While not precisely accurate in coloration, the Skoth here represents the Promethea moth, which is of course a symbol for Promethea. Sophie is the name of the human who is the latest incarnation of Promethea.

Story

She is named for the title character of Alan Moore's Promethea and draws her concept from the themes of that work (but not necessarily of the character herself).

PrometheaStar is something of a creative shamaness mixed with a muse. Her magic draws on the creative energy of others, but in turn inspires them. Artists and writers from all over Subeta (and beyond!) travel to see her, often in an effort to overcome a persistent creative block. Once they have an audience with the shamaness, she invites them to create something--anything. The energy of this creation allows her to travel in the spiritual world, building her own knowledge of the higher powers and attending to the varied and strange business she has there.

The artist invariable finds him or herself freed from the block or inspired to create more and more works. However, these works almost always have a theme related to the business PrometheaStar attended to--such as protection, exploration, the restoration of personal or widespread balance. She, in whatever form the artist sees her, usually plays a central role.

In this way, PrometheaStar is an idea as much as an entity, granting her a kind of tenuous immortality. As long as future generations come across the works featuring her, she will be... not precisely reborn, but repossessed, into a physical form. Unfortunately, the person being 'possessed' by her idea-spirit usually must abandon his or her previous life or else fail to contribute to the cycle of power, and every incarnation must begin the journey of discovery anew (it just becomes easier the more incarnations go by).
