Severus gazed out of his grand apartment window watching the people pass down the street. As he watched the Londoners scuttle about, his mind started to drift. Life was certainly different than it was five years ago. The time after the war was just a brutal as the battle itself. Severus had a long recovery from the terror Nagini unleashed upon him as well as dealing ramifications that come with being a double agent. If it had not been for the antivenin and the trusty beazor he ingested before his meeting with Voldemort, he would not be drawing breath this day. The damage to his neck was almost hopeless, but the healers at St. Mungo's poured everything into saving the man with whom the war would have never been won. Severus rubbed his neck gently as he placed his other hand on the cool pane of glass. Six long months of procedures to extract the venom that lingered in his body, another six of extensive physical therapy to get him back on his feet, and now here he was four years later. He owned an apothecary in Diagon Alley, Bottled, that was very successful. It took him a couple of years to get everything up and running, but it had paid off for him.
Stepping back from the window, Severus started to gather the rolls of parchment that were stacked neatly on the coffee table. Placing them in his messenger bag, he threw the bag down and took a seat on the black leather couch. In all honesty, the business ran itself. Severus hired only the best former students and things went smoothly and profitably. His high standards from the classroom carried over to his business thus creating a very efficient workplace. The lab serviced two Potions Masters and a number of apprentices, not to mention Severus himself. Severus mostly worked on various research topics, occasionally taking orders for rare potions where he was personally asked for his services. He travelled when the itch called, took tea with Minerva at least once a month, and a new found obsession with the internet kept him mostly occupied.
A knock sounded at the door.
Severus glanced at his watch noting it was about seven o'clock and he wasn't expecting anyone. Standing, he smoothed down his jeans and pulled at his black t shirt, righting it. A swept hand combing through his long hair, and he was pulling the door open. There before him stood a vision in a cream colored sleeveless pantsuit. Wild chestnut curls piled gloriously on her head, tendrils escaping everywhere. His breath caught for a moment, but slowly he reached for her hand, bringing to his mouth. Placing a kiss to her knuckles, his breath ghosted across her hand as he softly said, "Hello Hermione."
I am Ellie's little shrine, you could say, to the one an only Severus Snape from the Harry Potter books. In her world Severus ends up with Hermione Granger, therefore she has Floopowder and Ensnaring to further corrupt her mind.
