Glacier ArchanAnd so they have. I put a brush to canvas the other day, and the paint seemed to know exactly what image to make. I've been working on a family portrait since then, and if I say so myself, it is coming along quite nicely.
Its nice to feel so passionate about painting again. When I was younger, I spent a lot of time in the classroom, studying art and English. Outside of the classroom, I read whenever and whatever I could.
My sister, Tamarra, was a year above me, studying archeology. When we got home, we'd share what we'd learned that day. Though I didn't share her same passion for archeology, it was interesting to listen to someone who found it so exciting.
However, Tamarra's energetic ways led her into a different direction, while I remained interested in academics. I eventually went on to graduate school and earned an MA in English Literature and the Arts.
My initial focus had been on English, but lately, I've been painting more and more. These days, when I'm not reading, I'm painting.
These past couple of days, though, I haven't been able to focus on painting at all! Before my visit to Thimble & Co., I had been reading some travel books. I finished one the other day, and it detailed the Louvre Museum.
I've been talking with a travel agent, and while the trip is currently out of my price range, I've come up with a budget, so I can save and visit it soon. Just imagine being in a building that holds the most brilliant artistic works of our history! The very idea of it makes me dizzy with delight.
After the Louvre, perhaps I'll visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cloisters, which features medieval art. Or maybe I'll go to the Vatican Museums to marvel at the Sistine Chapel and see Michelangelo's work up close.
There is so much in this world left to see, and I can only hope that I have enough life in me to see it all.
