He wasn't always so rusted.
Back in the day, he was a fighter, a great battle-bot. Programmed and well-trained by his owner, they enjoyed quite a bit of success in the arena. Even his name Vityaz- the valiant warrior- spoke of his prowess. However...as expected by his current state, things didn't stay so well forever.
Sometimes, no matter how great a fighter you are, you lose a battle. This was nothing new. Losing such a CRUCIAL battle, however, was an entirely different matter. Enraged at his machine's failings, the boy took him to the workshop, under the guise of making some 'improvements' so they'd win next time. Dedicated to a fault when it came to his owner, Vityaz never for a moment suspected there would be any foul play.
But that's exactly what there was. Vityaz's owner pulled at his wires, doing what he thought was 'powering down' the machine before dumping him in a junk pit. However, all he accomplished was disabling his body...but not his mind.
For years, the Valiant Warrior lay in a trash heap, unable to move but more than able to think. All as more junk was pushed on to him, as his pretty gold turned to a worn and murky green, as he slowly rusted, corroded and felt his body break and wear down...
