A construct of magic and flesh made by an ancient civilization on Atebus long, long ago. Sybylance is obsessively protective of his younger 'brother', Syntassien, especially since an incident which left the other construct powerless and near death. Regardless of how well-meaning his actions are, he is hard to cooperate with due to his domineering, control-freak nature. He is frequently trying to thwart Syntassien's attempts to escape the safety of their home in Veta.
Sybylance is rumored to have been constructed from sunlight and blood magics. He is an incredibly powerful magic-user, but he often times lacks control, especially when roused to anger. It is difficult to be in the same room as him for extended periods of time; he has a stifling aura of heat and ill will that turns away all but the most persistent individuals-- namely Syntassien and Sybylance's close friend, Keehl.
