While there is so much hate in the world, I will be silent.
While there is so much greed in the world, I will be silent.
While there is so much anger in the world, I will be silent.
While there is so much hurt in the world, I will be silent.
Until the world changes, I will be silent...
They meant no harm. They did not know the rules. They were lost. And we killed them. My people killed them. We may be small, but we are quick, we are tough, and we are ruthless. My people were ruthless, we have lived in the Land of Frost for many years, we have learned how to live, we know how to blend in with the snow, the forest, the skies.
They did not.
My people were worried that they would take over, that they would kill us. So we got them first. Their blood stained the snow, and their cries filled the air, and their spirits had left this earth. My tears were frozen to my face. This was wrong. I knew it was wrong. They had meant us no harm.
And then I saw one of them, huddled by a fire making small whimpering noises. She was staring at the glowing, shinning embers. As I approached she looked up at me with wide frightened eyes, and tilted her head at me.
After a few moments she came forward and sat next to me. She needed someone to protect her, to watch her. And so I took my place beside her, and I’ve been there ever since.
