When a star falls from the sky normally there's a wittness to the phenonmenon. The individual who is able to catch sight of the event will often cast a wish and that deteremines the star's fate. Wishing for riches? The star will become treasure. Wishing for companionship? Perhaps the star becomes a person or animal companion. What then happens when a star falls and no wish is cast to be granted? This became Luck's fate - falling to earth they became something new, half-human and half-star.
Luck was discovered by an elderly couple; lost and confused they took the stranger in without question, gave them a name and became family. This strange individual had the curiousity and mind-set of a youngster, fasinated by everything and eager to learn about the world they had looked down upon for so many years and were now capable of joining. While the couple who would become like parents to Luck continued to age and eventually passed with time, Luck continued living - unchanged with time. It became clear to Luck quickly that they needed allies and would befriend individuals through the years who would help them conceal their secret and continue living like the mortals. While appearing human, Luck maintained strange powers they could only explain as what would have been the magic to transform them for the wish that was never cast upon them.
Living for so long gives one plenty of time to try things out and Luck was no expection to this experience, the arts especially drew their attention and they became skilled in painting, sculpting and more recently photography. These particular hobbies became the source of their living over the years, using their mortal contacts to sell much of their works under various false names to keep a generous money flow. It was only in the more recent years that Luck became more publically known as a photographer since their favorite subject was the humans they were living amoung and face to face meetings became necessary.
For the most part Luck tries to maintain a low profile, meeting only with clients who happen to get their contact information. They found no need to hang on to a lot of physical things over the years and lives a minimalist lifestyle in a small city apartment. People watching is still one of their favorite past times and they'll often wander the city, camera hanging around their neck watching for the next ideal moment to capture in the lens.
