Planning new and improved modern profile:
3 tabs of story snapshots of different points in his life, all interactions with Xansho.
Story 1: Meeting at Masq, falling for her. Image of the two of them in their dress attire. Notably, little augmentation on him at this point, none actual body mods, just wearable things.
Story 2: The proposal. Same concept as old version below, need to reread and see if that's still usable. Should have some actual physical modifications now, most notably that thing in his chest that he made into a music box. Maybe she was coming in to break up with him as it was because he's spending all his time tinkering and she never sees him, but then he shows her what he's been doing and she's freaked out by the extent of the mods he's made?
Story 3: Xansho comes looking for Verinn for help because something is really not right with Tikora. When she finds him, he's hanging out with Qiyre (or maybe she just references Qiyre's bad influence) and is super super heavily modified. She freaks out and yells at him. Maybe it actually sinks in a little bit that he's gone too far, but Qiyre manipulatively (magically?) reassures him and dismisses his concerns.

Story progress:

Synchronized ticks echoed through the otherwise quiet shop as the young watchmaker carefully adjusted the tiny cogs. He wound one last, tiny screw into place, then leaned back to survey his work. It was finished, but there was no telling if it would work without a test. He pulled away at his shirt, roughly unbuttoning it, to reveal a glowing chamber in his chest, webbed with intricate metal workings. He picked up his project, a tiny, delicate ring, and fitted it carefully into the hollow in the center of the device in his chest. It slid snugly into place. He took a breath, then turned it as if winding up a clock.

The soft plink of music, like that of a jewelry box, filled the tiny office, a light, dancing melody. He smiled and closed his eyes as he listened. After a moment, the sound died away.

He removed the ring and placed it in a small velvet box on his desk. He had finally finished.A bell rang as his shop door opened. He hurriedly closed up his shirt and made himself presentable again, before stepping out of his tiny office and into the sales room.

A young woman had entered the shop and waited impatiently at the counter. He relaxed as he saw who it was, his face lighting up in a smile.

“Xan! Hello, dearest! What brings you in?”

She frowned at him, but his happiness was undeterred.

“Verinn, don’t. I’ve been needing to talk to you, but you’ve been locked up in that damn office of yours-“

“Ah, I’m sorry, I’ve had a lot of work-“

“Don’t lie to me! You haven’t had any business for months!”

“Well, I do have some faithful-“

“You were making more ‘alterations’ to yourself, weren’t you? It’s sick, Verinn! You can’t turn yourself into a watch!”

He faltered for a moment, but kept trying to appease her.

“I wasn’t…Well, sort of, but-“

“I’m done, Verinn. I can’t watch you do this to yourself. You need to find yourself some help, but I can’t deal with this anymore. We’re through.”

“You don’t mean that, love-“

“Yes, I do. There’s no going back this time. I can’t keep doing this.”

He grabbed her hand to keep her from leaving, now frantic.

“Just wait…it’s- I’ve got to show you!”

He ran back to his office to grab the tiny box, and had to race to keep her from leaving. He grabbed her hands and pressed the box into them, his face pleading.

“Just open it, Xansho. Please. You’ve got to see.”

She tried to push it back to him, so he opened it and held out the ring to her.

“See, Xan? It’s a ring. For you. I was proposing. I wanted us to be together, see? Look!”

He pulled his shirt back open, losing a button in his rush, and held the ring in her hand, pushing it into place. Her face paled at the sight of his chest, but he took no notice, winding up the ring.

The melody played, as before, and he stood waiting for a reaction, his eyes pleading, an anxious smile on his face. She said nothing, and the melody continued on in their silence. She looked like she was going to be sick. The song faded away, leaving only the ticking of the clocks.

“Xan?” She slowly let go of the ring and pulled her hand away, gave him a pained glance, and left the shop.

“Xan?” He repeated, his voice faltering. He stood there, shocked, making no move to remove the ring or fix his shirt. He just stared after her.
