How did you find my lair? Oh well, I could always use spare parts...

Bero has always been different. From the time he was young, he always wondered how things worked. Other Velosotor liked exploring and fighting, but not Bero. He would take things apart and put them back together. Once he understood how something worked, he would find something else to tinker with.

One day, he came across an injured rabbit. The way it laid, bent and twisted, peaked Bero’s curiosity. He wondered how living things worked. He carefully picked up the rabbit to take back to his lair. There were so many working parts inside the rabbit. Vlad carefully removed every organ and studied it. After hours of dissection, he carefully put every organ back in its place. Did all living things have the same insides? Do they all function the same as this rabbit? Can I combine them? Bero had to know more. So, he started collecting. Once the taste for experimentation started, the whispers started.

Bero continued to experiment has he got older. The whispers continued. Sometimes they were loud. Sometimes they were quiet. He started off ignoring them. Then he started talking back. They helped give him ideas and eventually took shape. They looked like floating black souls with eyes. He combined all sorts of animals, but he could never get them to start working again. He wasn’t sure what he was doing wrong, but he continued to try. After all, practice makes perfect.

Finally, it happened. Bero was able to bring something back. It was a tiny, mangled mess of animal parts, but he brought it back. Bero perfected his new skill. He made quite a few tiny, new animals. He was ready to try something bigger. Bero searched for the perfect parts for his new creation. He dug them up if he had to. After months of collecting, he was finally able to work on his greatest creation.
