So Sweety Dead was originally a regular sweetheart pet. She has a SH younger brother and a non-SH younger sister.

She develops a condition that starts off as a rash that becomes a full-blown strain. However, due to the quick thinking on her brother’s end, Choux figures out how to slow the process, regulating it down to an immune response managed similarly to eczema. Sweety’s strain patches can flare up from scratching and exposure to cold weather, or be minimized to four starting areas with medication: the back of her head (left side), the right side of her jaw, her right forearm, and the small of her lower back. Her jaw and forearm are the most well managed as they are front and center, while her head and back patches are less so due to being easily hidden from the curious eye by clothing and hair. The back of her head is the point of origin and the patch will come to encircle the entire thing if allowed to run rampant.

Choux’s a hard-ass, by the book kind of guy. He initially works for a candy company, in flavor chemistry synthesizing artificial flavors. Once Sweety begins to develop her condition, the small family fears the worst, and after multiple medical evaluations the condition appears to be growing at such a rapid pace that it is deemed dangerous to her quality of life. Choux starts working on a cure, but in the end can only stabilize the condition to prevent it from consuming his sister entirely. Buttercreme becomes very withdrawn.

Meanwhile, Sweety must comes to terms with having a chronic condition, having to bring her now estranged siblings together again, and needing to learn self-love in the face of prejudice from other sweetheart pets.
