Second born kit of the thirtieth generation of Celestials. He was an early birth who was at first expected to wither with no tails - however he managed to survive and became a fox known to many among the early generations. His abilities improving swiftly and marking him one of Inari's future messengers. On the day of his ninth tails' emergence he was accepted into Inari's inner court and made a messenger.

However his occasional visits into the lower realm sparked an interest in human's and their way of living. He would often look forwards to being allowed to travel down to their world until his patience wore too thin and he began breaking many rules in order to escape below. Due to this growing habit he had lost his place among Inari's court of foxes and in spite of their warnings to not meddle in human affairs he fled to live among the humans.

In a bout of misfortune from living for too long among the humans Ren's true nature as a kitsune was discovered and stirred fear and distrust. It led to the death of a human which caused a domino effect of tragedy and forced Ren to be the target of a rather powerful exorcist. Life from that moment was a constant chase.

Though strong, Ren was not interested in fighting and wound up gravely injured with each encounter. On one of those days a heavily injured Ren found himself stripped of seven tails by an incantation meant to kill him.

Upon coming to Ren discovered that not only was his tails missing but so was the stone around his neck. To more of a surprise these items missing were in the hands of the clueless Kyouu. Finding that sealed away in his stone were his tails and that he cannot free them without the aid of the strange boy, Kyouu strikes him a deal. Ren begrudgingly accepts it.
