Eero Heinonen is the bassist and one of the founding members of the Finnish alternative rock group The Rasmus. And film maker. And Sahaja Yoga enthusiast. And half merman.

Eero was born on 27th November 1979. Lauri Ylönen and Eero founded The Rasmus in 1994 with together Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar) and Jarno Lahti (drummer). They were 8 graders. Initially they played funk-pop music, which gradually progressed into a more serious rock sound. To this day the guys are experimenting with various styles.

Next year Yarno left the band and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen. In 1999 Janne left the band. Aki Hakala has became the drummer of the band. Pauli Rantasalmi left the band in 2022 to pursue other interest. Emilia "Emppu" Suhonen became the new guitarist.

He first tried Sahaja Yoga meditataion in when he accompanied a friend to a meditation event. Soon meditation has become part if his daily life. He met his wife at a yoga course in India, they promtly married. They have a daughter.Occasionally he shares his session with fans, online or offline.

In 2003 when the band members started to work in their interest outside The Rasmus, he started a band called Hay & Stone and realesed the album Making Waves in 2006. It is now available in most popular music streaming services. In late 2022 started releasing Sahaja Yoga meditation music with Hay & Stone.

Eero also developed interest in film making: he recorded and edited several short videos for the band and the "Making of Black Roses" (2008). He founded his own production company, Art Slow in 2011, which specializes in documentary films and music videos. He moved to Australia and to learn production at the Australian Film Television and Radio School to broaden his perspective. Nowadays teaches some courses at AFTRS.
