"By eye of newt and dragons bane, The circle's cast within her name. The witching hour is drawing neigh, your incantations rise to the sky!Call the corners one by one, complete the circle as in ole time's done.North with power, your might untold, Grace this circle with icy cold!East with morning's breath of light, Grace our circle with beams so bright!South come forth with your gentle breeze and grace this circle we bid you, please.West with the shadows of the midnight sun, please grace our circle, unite us as one.Corners now called from North trough West, circle drawn, and now 'tis blessed.Cauldron bubbles with an eerie glow. Spirits emerge, quiet as fallen snow.Summoned are the powers that be, come now invoke this spell of clarity!Candles glimmer against the shade. Blood is let as the pact is made..."Fortuna's voice wavers as she draws her blade across her palm, dripping scarlet pearls into the bubbling cauldron. "Gah, i always hate this part!" she winces, whispering a curse under her breath as she bandages her fresh wound. "This is why i never fool around with that black magic stuff. I'll stick to my plants and rocks thank-you-very-much." With a sigh, she added: "Although sometimes it simply can't be avoided." She turned to look at the person standing behind her and nodded, matter-of-factly. "Now then. Is there anything else I can do for you?" The young man shook his head and grabbed her hands, holding them tightly and grinning ear-to-ear. "Thank you Fortuna! I don't know WHAT I'd do without you!" The witch allowed herself a smirk and chuckled. "Any time. Now go on, shoo. I've got work to do and a mess to clean up!" She waved her good hand at him, ushering the man out the door which closed with a heavy "thud" behind him. "Phew." She sighed, turning to face the gargantuan mess that was now her kitchen table. "The things I do for love... Alright then, better get to work." Rolling up her sleeves clear up to her elbows, Fortuna dove right in, picking up bottles of herbs and oils, nudging crystals and gems back onto their respective shelves, and lugging her enormous tattered book back to the podium that was it's usual home.
