There once was a common Devonti who had a sweet tooth. And I mean, like, MAJORLY. She ate so much sugar, you would not BELIEVE. I'm talking, like, HUUUUGE quantities of sugar, but her most favorite sugary snack of all was COTTON CANDY!

She was an absolute FIEND for the stuff. She liked the normal cotton candy, and the gross zombie cotton candy, and even the kind of cotton candy that grows in your belly button.
Legit, it was kind of a problem.

People used to warn her that you are what you eat, but that seemed okay to her. In fact, she WISHED she could be made of Cotton Candy. That's how she got her name, even--yep, that's right, she got her name legally changed to Cotton Candy.
She was OBSESSED.

But of course, even a magical Devonti from the land of Subeta couldn't be made of sugarly, fluffy, so-good, yummy sweetness... it was but a pipe dream. A beautiful, fluffalicious pipe dream. Made of sugar. In cloud form. On a paper cone.
UNLESS...

One day on her usual grocery shopping trip to the Delphi Carnival Stand, this boringly normal sweet-loving Devonti got a liiiiiiiiiiittle too close to the cotton candy machine...

AND SHE WAS PULLED IN!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!

AROUND AND AROUND AND AROUND SHE SPUN! The sugar was hot and sticky and got all in her wool and dyed her hooves and horns the most beautiful colors you could imagine! It spun so fast her eyes turned blue! (Wait, common Devonti's eyes are already blue? Okay uh well... they got shinier! YEAH!) (Shush) (You're ruining the story stop asking questions)

The important thing here is that SHE HAD CHANGED FORMS!
NO LONGER WAS SHE A COMMON, RUN-OF-THE-MILL, AVERAGE, SUGAR-LOVING DEVONTI...

BUT A SWEETHEART DEVONTI!

"And that's how I became the first ever Sweetheart Devonti." Cotton Candy explains, holding up her autobiography, All About Cotton Candy, "True Story. Yours now for 2,222 sP or 62,999 autographed by yours truly." She gestures to a heart-shaped hoofprint she has stamped on the cover, and then shows you the underside of her heart-shaped hoof.

"Oh, it also happened to my minion, too. He got in the cotton candy machine after me, trying to pull me out. He's such a good minion. Aren't you, Sugarcane?"

She picks up her Sugarmane, proudly showing him off.
The tiny cotton candy lion sticks out his tongue at you in a blep.

You raise an eyebrow at her.
"But Cotton Candy, you weren't the first ever Sweetheart Devonti and that's not how sweethearts get their color.
You have to drink a potion--."

"UM, NO, I JUST TOLD YOU HOW IT HAPPENED, AND ALSO IT'S IN A BOOK THEREFORE IT'S REAL... Yours for 2,999 sP or 62,999 sP autographed by yours truly. Act now before prices go up! You won't get a deal like this again!"

You frown, comparing the price in the shops to what she's offering. It might be a good buy for your bookworm pet...
Just as you start rifling through your pockets for your wallet, though, Cotton Candy notices another subetan walking up the street and seemingly forgets all about you as she flounces over to them and cheerfully SCREAMS for their attention. Something falls from her wool as she bounces away...

A Cotton Candy Makeup Kit; looks like she accidentally dropped it. Maybe it wasn't a Sweetheart Potion or a Delphi Carnival Stand incident after all...

Well... at least she gave you a free sample for listening to her silly story. But as you stare at the little cone, you can't help but wonder if it's spun from real sugar, made from her wool, or some odd concoction derived from belly button lint... Maybe you should give it to your gourmand pet instead... Just to be safe...
