It was a gentle, breezy day. The sun's heat was perfect. I was reading book to Tulip. No cares, no nothing. It was just another spring day, my favorite time of the year.I’m starting to think of having an owner again. I can't believe that it has been 6 years and I still have no owner. But, I kind of like not having an owner. I am free to do what I want. But, I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have an owner. I read about them in my books. Some are nice and caring. Some are downright mean.Tulip cuddles me and it snaps me back out of my daydream. I continue to read the book to Tulip. I must have fallen asleep while I was reading.I am awoken by footsteps and I see a human and an Anyu. I grab Tulip and we try to blend in with the grass around us. The Anyu stopped close by. I tried not make any sound. In my fright, I forgot to grab her book. Then the human noticed the book. The human got off her Anyu and picked up the book.“This is odd. What is a book doing way out here? Oh well, Teddy will like this. If he’s already read it, then you will like it Toddy,” said the human. Then, the human notices the grass isn’t right and jumps back when she notices who is there. Toddy just sits on his butt and playfully bats at butterfly. I see the human is scared and slowly shows herself. I’m kind of scared too. The human slowly leans in.“Hello, I’m Spoooky. You look like a very sweet Keeto,” said the human as she reached out for me.I feel the warm touch of her hand. I feel… love. This is what I have been looking for.On nice spring days, I still come out to the glade and read books. But, during winter, I have a place to call home. As for the Anyu, he is special and will protect me. We have become good friends.
