Native to the Omen Islands. Or, at least, that's what some of the pirates tell him.

Doesn't know who his parents are, or if they're still alive. Has grown up in Port Plunder, surviving on his own.

Both Islander and Pirate customs have taught him to love, respect, and fear the sea. But he's still young and somewhat naive, and is willing to bet the sea holds great adventure for him.

That's why, when Margolis and her submersible break the surface of the ocean and dock in Port Plunder to replenish some supplies, Rolfe sneaks on board and stows away.

By the time any of the crew realize he's on board, it's already too late to turn back.

Rolfe's somewhat of a nuisance, at least according to Cal, but he proves his worth by cooking, keeping the submersible tidy, giving a name to some of the eerie sea creatures they sometimes see, and regaling the crew with tall tales of pirates and sea monsters.
