Konichiwa...

Morwins were made long ago by a witch named Phaesyle. Centuries have passed since that day and history says Phaesyle had become extremely weak after creating the original Morwins named Morwin and Ecodria. Other sorcerers and sorceress had heard about and seen her creations and they wanted them for themselves. With each attempt at stealing them the pair protected their master with force fields and counter attacks. But Phaesyle knew it could only last for so long. One night she fitted the two with hooded capes and told them to run and not come back. Morwin took Ecodria and they ran that night, they ran into the forest and as Ecodria looked back she could see the flames catching fire to their home. Phaesyle died that night protecting her creations, her children. Eventually the two had to stop running and when they did they took refuge in a small town that reminded them of home. It wasn't long before a demon by the name of Leigoven came across them and gave them somewhere to live.

It was said that Ecodria and Morwin, the original two of the species had mated and had one offspring. After Ecodria and Mowrin had passed leaving behind five offspring Leigoven named the species after Morwin and everything took off from there. Morwin were a very rare and expensive and only those who could afford them could be privilege to own one. The Morwin breed like humans for the most part and can only have one to two children per pregnancy. They are the most sought after type of servant and Morwin breeder came about to satisfy the demand of the species. It is very hard for a breeder because the Morwin were originally made to serve their masters not to breed continuously. Many of them can be infertile and are of no use to a breeder. Through the years the Morwin have kept most of their traits but some of their personalities have changed, darker Morwins are called "rejects" these are usually dark in color unlike the usual white ones. These Morwin are harder to control and are very rebellious. There is sometimes one "reject" to every ten normal Morwin, they are extremely un-common.

Morwin breeders are often hard to come by or even find. They rarely have outsiders visit their breeding farms due to the rarity of the breed and fear of them being stolen. They work with underground markets that are kept out of the public eye and sold to those who can afford them. Even with all the money in the world one might not be able to obtain a Morwin. Their low breeding numbers, numbers of infertile Morwins, along with the amount of "rejects" and "defective" Morwins making them an even more sought after commodity. In the orient, specifically Japan, there had been only one Morwin breeder. This gentleman had a very large piece of land and bred them not so much for the money but for the sake of what he saw as a beautiful and majestic species.

In one litter, with only two pups, he had a normal breed standard Morwin and a "defective" Morwin. The defective was not a reject, its fur was white, but it had two abnormalities. Only possessing two sets of wings instead of four and extremely small and short horns. His first female in all of his litters but he could not use her to breed because he did not want his future litters to potentially be defective as well not to mention it was unknown if she was even fertile. Most breeders would kill the pup not wanting to waste their time or resources on raising it just to have it never sell. But this breeder with a large smile and kind hands picked her up and decided to let her live.

She grew up along side her brother being taught the same guidelines and rules that he was being taught. The man treated them equal and when the day finally came where they were to be sold he kissed them both on the forehead and placed a white rope in her hair with pink bells at the end, a good luck charm he said, that would surely find her a good home. The black market was cleaner than most and in only minutes her brother was sold to a wealthy woman while she sat there and waited. Many tried to barter for her price, the fact she was not up to the breed standard surely she could go for a lot less. But the merchant shook his head and refused them all explaining the breeder would accept no less for her and wanted even more than whatever price her brother sold for. Money was not the old man’s aim but he never wanted her to think she was any less than perfect.

A man approached her and bent down to look at her. He left her quickly to talk to their merchant and paid the man promptly. She left that day just before the market closed, her good luck charm had found her a home she thought. The man took her home and sat her down with very little introduction other than his name and the name of his son. The man was very wealthy and he owned the biggest onsen in Japan. He explained to her that he was dying and his wife had left him and his 13 year old son was his life. He had bought her to take care of and watch over his son after his death and to be there for him no matter what he asked that his son was her master after his passing. He had bought her despite her defects because he thought she was special, it was fate, and he knew she would watch over his son better than any family member after his money. He named her Tomoko, which meant child of wisdom, because she looked so much like a child and she would forever, yet she could be as wise as the greatest elders if taught correctly.

His son's name was Kouichi and they became fast friends. The man died two years later. Leaving his estate, business, possessions, and Tomoko to his son. By this time she had learned all that needed to be done to keep up with the onsen and the legal paperwork. As extended and close family came one after another to try and collect some sort of profit from Kouichi's father’s death she made sure she was present and turned them all away. She taught him slowly and the two of them were fixtures in the onsen, many people came just to see them, the children who ran one of the largest business' in all of Japan. As Kouichi grew Tomoko stayed the same, though her mind was expanding and maturing her body would not mature as his did.

9 years after being sold Tomoko was still at her master’s right hand as he had become a strapping young man. He ran the business end as far as paperwork and legalities and she tended to the customers as well as the other staff. She had devoted her life to him and the onsen. She was mentally as mature as he was at 22 years old. As much as she didn't want to admit it she had fallen in love with her master. She attended to all of his needs, she fed him, she helped with the business, she cleaned up the house, she ran errands for him, and whatever else he asked for. But as the world changed and technology changed with it so did the business. More people preferred modern hotels and baths than staying at the onsen but even so many Japanese and foreigners still came. He became more stressed and there was nothing she could do to help him except come whenever she heard him calling.
