Seth awoke with a start. Scream caught in his throat. The blanket tangled between his legs. Cold sweat dripping down his forehead. Closing his eyes he tried to control his ragged breathing. It wasn´t the first time it had happened. His brother send those nightmares to him. Reminding him of what he´d done. He felt so tired. Untangleing himself he went to the kitchen to drink a glass of water. Upon returning to bed he glanced at the clock. The red digits read 3:14. Sighing Seth let his head hit the pillow.
When the first rays of sunshine broke through the window Seth turned around. The big window front in his bedroom gave a quiet impressive view of the city. Of all places he could have gone the god of chaos choose Ney York. It was far away from Egypt and far away from Osiris. He didn´t blame his brother for torturing him. Seth had mutilated his body before Horus his nephew had exiled him from Egypt. He knew that Isis had revived his brother. The visous circle continued. It didn´t matter how far away Seth was Osiris always found him.
Glancing down from his window Seth observed the people. After 2000 years nothing had changed. They were still greedy and power hungry. They were still killing eachother in meaningless wars. That´s how humans were they were pathetic. But after being cast out of Egypt Seth realized that gods as they were, were also pathetic. Osiris thought he was above everyone and everything and so had Seth. In the end they weren´t better than humans. Fighting for power. Trying to surpass the other. Pathetic.
In his greedy and power hungry attempt to overthrow Osiris and rule over Egypt he lost something more precious. He hadn´t realized until it had been too late. And he could not be forgiven. After all those centuries Seth wasn´t able to forgive himself for what he had done that day. Osiris that bastard had to remind him every day. It was right he deserved to suffer. Those memories always haunted him. There was no way he could shake them off. There was no way to escape from what he´d done.
flashback
The egyptian sun was hot. Incredibly hot. The sand underneath his feet was buring like lquid lava. He still enjoyed it though it was his home. An incredible beautiful home. Seth couldn´t imagine living somewhere else. Seth liked to observe humans they fascinated him. One day he met the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. His blue eyes shone like sapphires. The boy had introduced himself as Tim.
Years passed and he still enjoyed Timaeus company. It was nice to have someone to talk to. Especially since his father was in the middle of choosing a heir for the throne. Ruling over Egypt. It was like a dream for Seth. He didn´t know that his father never planned on choosing him as his heir. Seth wasn´t fit for king. That´s why he would have been known as god of chaos later on.
Of course Seth got to know later on that his father had betrayed his trust. Osiris had done the same. Lulling him to safety. It was for his own good they had said. Tim made Seth feel special. He didn´t see him as prince or god he just saw him for who he was. After their first kiss Seth had grinned like a fool all day. His brother got suspicious and followed him...
The day his father announced Osiris would be king of Egypt, Seth lost it. It wasn´t fair. What did his brother have that he hadn´t ?? When he asked his father about it, his father told him that he was a liability. He wasn´t fit for king he only created chaos. Something inside of Seth broke that day. His sadness got replaced with fury. This fury caused the historical ten plagues.
Outraged and hurt Seth searched for a way to kill his brother. He knew that Osiris was expecting a heir himself. There was a legendary knife hidden somewhere in his fathers chambers. The years passed he was still in a relationship with Timaeus. His driven sense for revenge damaged their relationship. The only thing Seth could focus on was the throne and revenge on his brother.
Days before he killed his brother Seth had asked Timaeus to meet with him. He had to get rid of him. Everyone was in his way. He did not need anyone. They had talked about seeing the world together. It wouldn´t happen. Timeaus was a burden to him. Not with the plans Seth had. He lured Timaeus in. Kissing him making him feel safe. That day Timaeus told him he loved him. He couldn´t have know what his lover was about to do.
Before the other knew what happened the god had slashed several times aross his face. A long gash was on his forehead. The blood dripping down his chin. Too shocked to react Timaeus didn´t see Seth attack again. This time the god aimed for his eyes. Tim screamed in agony as the blade slashed across his face again. His hand were covering his eyes desperatly. Seth was standing over him unimpressed. His eyes dull and emotionless. He heard Tim cry then he turned around and left he had his borther to kill. Nothing else mattered anymore. He did not need love. Love was for weaklings. What he wanted was power. And the throne...
flashback end
Seths eyes snapped open. His chest felt tight. Incredibly tight. Desperatly he tried to get oxygen into his lungs. Doubling over he clutched at his chest. His eyes were filling with tears. Trying to surpress a sob he coughed in pain. Laying on the floor he felt cold. After being cast out of Egypt he realized what he had done. He had hurt the only person who ever truly cared about him. He couldn´t forgive himself. It was unforgivable.
Laying on the floor the tears made their way down his cheek. He hadn´t seen HIM in 2000 years. His heart ached when he thought of HIM. It was cold everything was cold. The only warmth he had ever felt was with HIM. And he had driven away that warmth for what ?? A kingdom, a throne, a crown ?? Power ?? He was as pathetic as humans were. Gods...They weren´t better than humans. His brother and himself they had been so wrong...
