There's something to be said of a sophisticated person, well read. I am that person but I am also more. There's always an endless dance card of social obligations I must attend. but I find my mind wandering each an every time. I dream of stopping at the river and splashing my face with cool water, washing the makeup off, removing the constricting bindings of my dress and joining the fish in the cool, trickling stream. Of walking through the grottos of peaches or vineyards and instead of nodding approvingly, to reach out and bite into the ripe fruit. letting the succulent juice splash where it may, feeling the heat of the summer day. To visit the beach an do more then sit on the sand. Finding my own pearls would be grand. But alas, I am stuck in the precipice of what I should do, and what I can do...
