It is said that there is an arctic goddess named Tundra that lives in the souls of all the creatures she protects. The goddess herself is responsible for the balance of life and death among the animals of the frozen ice deserts. She can take form through others, using her spirit to inhabit the bodies of other animals and humans. The native people of the cold barren icy lands tell stories of a woman with skin the color of lavender and eyes of the bluest blue wandering among the plains late into the night.

It is said that she is not really there; she is a spirit of the arctic. Some villagers claim to have been touched by the spirit in their dreams, blessing them with good fortune and happiness. Some of these claims are very much true.

Tundra has also been seen inhabiting the body of a lone female wolf who takes on the goddess’s traits when the goddess is present within her. This wolf is much more difficult to observe because Tundra’s powers turn her into ice. Those who have seen her like this have described a seemingly mythological lavender-colored wolf with beads of ice trailing behind it, and shards of ice stemming and floating around like a protective shield.

Sometimes Tundra is accompanied by a baby polar bear whose mother died too soon. The natives named the baby bear ‘Sola’, which was inspired by the glowing aura of light that surrounds him whenever he is near the beautiful arctic goddess. He is looked upon as a pure spirit and a guardian of innocence. Protecting the frozen lands she loves is not the only purpose that Tundra has. She also roams the frozen plains in search of the light spirit. A spirit of the light will set her free from her Earthly bounds, and allow her to rest after centuries of roaming alone.
