Slagan was a demon once, happily doing what demons do in their hellish underworld, until one day he was forcefully yanked from his fiery home and poofed into the Subetan one. Sitting upon a chalk-drawn symbol, surrounded by candles and strange smells, he heard a gleeful cry from something towering over him. This creature was none other than a witch, Vivi, who lived alone in a secluded patch of forest in Shadowglen.

Over time, she taught him the ways of the people in this world, but mainly witch stuff like magic and hexes and potions. He eagerly learned and helped her, but always looked forward to one thing, Morostide which filled him with true joy. He wanted nothing more than to see costumed children, give out sweets, and carve faces into pumpkins all year round. Vivi let him go and Slagan now lives in the pumpkin patch, playing with the critters and ghosts there until that spooky time of year comes.
