Located on the main island of Valanciana, within the Cheivarelle Archipelago Cluster

Between the ages of two to seven, she was subjected to extreme levels of physical, mental and emotional abuse from both her parents, Admiral Markus and Lady Veronique Hedgehog, and survived only by running away from home and establishing herself in what was known as the Grey Zone, a heavily forested territory outside the city limits of Valanciana. Little is known about her time away from civilisation, it's a story few have been told - Velindra keeps her past experiences and personal life extremely private, and has stayed this way for many years.

Her current life can be described with one word: Hectic.

Not only is she a main member of the city's Council, but she juggles day-to-day duties as part of the Navy and its resulting Port Authority, negotiations between the various provinces and is second-in-command to many within the Admiralty, Tribunal and other parts of the City's protective forces. This often means she is rarely seen out of uniform or her team's respective colours. Unlike others within the various forces, Velindra's job is full-time, often starting from as early as two in the morning and progressing through to ten in the evening. She earns a week of respite a year, but it often doesn't mean what it sounds. She never truly relaxes or lets her guard down, having suffered dearly for a lapse in concentration on many occasions. She is a self-professed intensive workaholic and this has cost her both her physical and mental health over time.

Up until she was in her mid-twenties, she very much preferred living with a menagerie of creature companions; among them several kittens and cats (Sterling was their Patriarch), two dogs (Corbin & Rhubarb), an adopted member of the Royal House of Premaria Island (Crowned Prince Aurealis Astor), two parrots (Sunburst & Moonshine) and a Dutch Angel Dragon (Fluffy). Having been through a traumatic physical experience in her early teens which left her bedridden and comatose for three years, the natural progression of seeking out a lifemate from the opposite sex did not manifest with her until much later in her life.

Her knowledge of the innermost areas of the Grey Zone and its surrounding territories, other parts of the Cheivarelle Archipelago and the mainland continent of Australis covers a wide range of topics, not least of which its flora, fauna, foodstuffs and landscapes. Being so immersed in her daily life has led to her becoming a bit of a gourmand due to the exclusive ceremonies and get-togethers planned by the increasing influx of visitors and dignataries alike, and she enjoys a good night out with copius amounts of alcohol and snacks. She's also accumulated many treasures and trinkets over the years; some of which take pride of place in her home, or are tucked away in drawers and cabinets to serve as memorials or reminders of the things she was unable to change.

She treasures knowledge in all its forms, and many tomes, scrolls and books litter the layout of her house. She loves to curl up in an armchair, a beanbag or in bed and just read quietly amongst a gaggle of purring foster felines, and her beloved Dutch Angel Dragon companion, Fluffy, as seen here.

She is- at this point in her ongoing storyline- forty years old; born on the 17th day of the Month of Harvest (August), 6874.

Until recently she was maintaining these jobs on a watertight schedule but has been forced, due to ongoing health concerns, to delegate & relegate her position to others within the innermost members of the Draconi'dia Council; the ruling body that maintains Valanciana Island alongside the orders of The Empress. Velindra has also met, fallen in love and later married (albeit secretly) Lieutenant-Colonel Sherlot Delta. Whilst she is unable to have children due to her prior injuries, both she and Sherlot continue to enjoy their lives together, alongside their now-bonded Dutch Angel Dragons, Fluffy & Casifer.
