I was playing with Lola and Amber when Tinti, her mom and dad came to take me home again. I'd been to their big house before, but I had nothing against another trip. This was so much fun! And afterwards I allways had loads to tell my siblings about, just like they had loads to tell me about when they took trips. I didn't exactly understand why we took those trips, but I liked them. Lola had said that the families we visited was going to be our new owners. I didn't believe that. Maybe they just wanted to take care of us for a few hours? It looked that way to me. "Hey, Cindy! How have you been?" Tinti said, picked me up and sat down. "It's been so long since I've seen you! Know what? Today we get to take you home for real! Aren't you happy?"I was happy, but what did sheean by "for real"? I nuzzled deeper into Tinti's arms as her dad and Pete talked, and her mom talked with Linda. "Alright, it's time to go!" the mom said after a while. Tinti got to her feet stil with me in her arms, and we walked outside and to the car"Are you realy going to your new home now? We'll miss you, Cindy," Linda said, giving me a slight hug. I licked her cheek, and she laughed as she dried her face. "Goodbye. Please keep in contact!"Pete waved as we drove away. I thought about how everything seemed so different this time. They never hugged me and said goodbye quite like this when I went to Tinti's house. And they all seemed much more excited today, except Pete and Linda, which seemed a bit sad. And Mom wasn't there to see me off like she usually was. My stomache dropped as it dawned on me. Maybe Lola was right! Maybe I would never see my family again! As we hit the highway, Tinti's family still chatting excitedly, I started thrashing in Tinti's arms, howling out my fears and misery. "Oh no, poor thing, she realizes she'll never come back," Tinti's mom said. "Yeah," Tinti said, sounding weird, "Help! I can't hold her!""You have to, we can't stop in the middle of the highway!" the mom said sternly, while I still cried, trying to escape and go back to the cozy crate with it's familiar scents and faces. "Hey, Cindy, it'll be alright! It's ok, don't worry," Tinti said calmingly, trying to stroke my fur while holding me still, "we'll be your family now, and you're gonna have a great life! We've bought so many nice things for you, a stylish collar, a leash, a bed, even a few pig ears! And we'll take lots of walks and have so much fun. It's gonna be alright,"As she petted me and talked so soothingly I slowly calmed down. I breathed a sad sigh as I settled down in her arms again. "Good job, Tinti," the dad said. "We're home!" Tinti said as Dad pulled into the garage and turned the car off. Tinti opened her days and carried me out and up towards the house while tbc
