walker's grown up on music. his father was a famous bassit and his mother a singer with a voice of the angels.
unfortunately they both perished on walker's 13th birthday on their way back from the music store; presumably buying him a gorgeous guitar, as there was the crushed remains of one in the back seat of what was left of their car.

ever since then walker has spent every birthday skating off to the outskirts of town with music from his walkman blasting in his ears.
he relived the last minutes with his parents in his head every time he did this as they were precious memories.

aside from his birthday though walker was an especially upbeat kid, spending his afternoon's cooped up in his best friend supra's garage playing new tracks for him as he worked on his car.
coke bottle caps popped on the floor as him and eileen, supra's next door neighbor, and the third part of the trifecta, cracked jokes and lightly got on supra's nerves.

eileen affectionately refereed to walker as "discount recycling beast" or DRB, as he loved to collect the caps. walker didn't exactly know what he would do with all the bottle caps but he sure thought they would come in handy at some point.

walker lived for his good friends, good music, and good times. if life was going to take his parents away from him, he wasn't letting it take anything more.
