Aethryll, the Keeper of Knowledge
"Well, if it isn't the fair Prince Arkis," the dragon trilled in vague excitement. "They sing many words of praise, but you've yet to do anything truly impressive. If my memory serves, you have more foul secrets than you have accomplishments." A toothy grin spread across the white dragon's face, his voice echoing with power through the frozen mountainous peak. Above him on tremendous spires sat a council of smaller dragons and wyrms, all gazing like hungry vultures upon the prince's army. They awaited the moment their lord gave the command, for they would dine well tonight.
Stepping forward fearlessly, the young prince quickly drew his blade and pointed straight at the beast's heart. "You speak well, Harbinger, but I did not come to exchange roasts with you. Will you, or will you not face me?" One by one, his soldiers followed suit, drawing their weapons. With the threat of the apocalypse upon them, they had nothing to lose. They would either die in fire and ice, or slay all of dragonkind, and return to a peaceful existence. There was no turning back.
Chuckling, the elder dragon rose to his feet, and very casually strode towards them, a deep hunger in his red eyes. "I suppose we both have titles to live up to, don't we? I accept your challenge, 'Hero'." Striking a stunning pose, he raised his wings to the sky and let out a thundering roar that shook the world. Soldiers stumbled, horses panicked, and a rain of screeching dragons and wyrms from the sky followed the call.
The War of Ice and Fire had begun.
