The circus dragon

The Dragon Tribe
It is said that the Dragon Tribe, aside from the Dog Tribe, is one of the rarest ones alive – dragons are mythical, beautiful and very powerful creatures, and so it is believed that the families of this tribe are very strong and powerful. The shrines that belong to these families are big and located on top of tall mountains, being home to lots of different dragon species, from small ones like the Dragonseeds to huge ones, as big as the shrines themselves.
Warriors from the Dragon Tribe are strong, good fighters – men are often big, muscular and brute, and women are just as strong and brute.

The circus boy
Theoddore (with two D’s – families from the Dragon Tribe like their children’s names to stand out) is from a family of circus performers of the Dragon Tribe; as a child, he traveled all around the continent as he trained to be a fireside performer and dragon tamer – and he had a lot of talent for it. Tedd was a smart child, full of tricks – and very good at math-, but not really up to the tribe’s expectations; he was a sweet, awkward and scrawny kid, smarter and more tactical than a brute fighter. He was, however, a very good acrobat and fireside performer with his slight control over fire, being one of the most important attractions of his family circus acts.
Disapproval from his father made it so that he put in a lot of effort to achieve his father’s expectations – he was incredibly hardworking and an overachiever, and tried his best to become what his family expected of him.
At fourteen years old, a fire accident during one of the acts at the circus resulted in Tedd losing his right leg and his mother. This changed a lot of things for himself and his family – his father being forced to watch over Tedd on his own made him understand his child better, as Tedd himself had to quit the circus and focus on his rehabilitation and his duty on the shrine as a dragon caretaker, with his mom now gone. Not long after that, he decided to join the Zodiac like his mother once did, in order to carry on her legacy.

The dragon child
Tedd is twenty-six years old and works for the Zodiac as an engineer, although his fire abilities and dragon taming is often needed in battle. He might be seen as a smug at first, with a strong personality and being quite full of himself – most of the times, he looks tired and annoyed at something; that is, however, an image he keeps in public to hide his awkward, scrawny self. Tedd is actually kind, empathetic and a might seem a bit aloof sometimes, and often can take a bit too long to understand joke. His childhood shyness kept him a little stutter, mostly when nervous, and a bit insecure overall, mostly due to his physical shortcomings. He is a great strategist, often working with Mies as a tactical for battles, and has proven to be quite a good fighter and leader when needed.

He is responsible for taking care of the dragon shrine up north, watching over the dragons living there and their treasures, that range from eggs to a lot of different precious stones. He is often seen bringing in fruits for Angus, a small dragon he once saved a long time ago. Tedd tries to keep up with healthy life habits and a healthy social life, but impatience and tiredness often keeps him running on coffee, alcohol and junk food – although he hates leaving his apartment overall, he often goes out drinking with Jinny and Cay, when he’s not playing videogames and watching television series.
He has a long-term relationship with Jinny, a young troubled girl from the Tiger Tribe, whom he’s helping overcome some past issues and is also making him learn a bit about himself and life. Most would never realize that, but he is secretly crazy about children and cheesy romantic things.
Seems like a narc but it’s actually a really nice and sweet guy, just puts on a bad guy face for the public.

The dragon
The Dragon is Tedd’s spiritual guide, who helps him have some control over fire – it resembles a big, red and fur-covered oriental dragon, who has a smirk on its face most of the time and a really silly humor, mostly filled with dad jokes. It responds to everything with bad jokes and a weird, asthmatic laugh – when things get serious, however, it is probably one of the strongest guides there is. Some say it is able to burn down whole forests.

Jinny

A girl he took under his wing at the academy, who now became his sweetheart. She denies it.

Angus

Small forest sprite who lives in the dragon temple up north. Helps him a lot, and then he brings it fruits.

Emptiness

Huge monster who swallows everything and everyone in its path. Needs to be destroyed at all costs.

Nahaliel

Bird person who seems to show up at inconvenient times. Not sure if friendly, but helps sometimes.
