Floor B1
Celia wasn't kidding - even with everything she scavenged from this place, there are tons of broken bits and bobs on the floor. The damaged walls are covered with schematics and plans - seems like it was a pro tinkering den right there.Whoever was working there did a lot of work on robotics. There's a corner where there is a bunch of dismantled prototypes, that gave me the heebies-jeebies. Just seeing all of those dead mechanical eyes...doesn't that make you shiver or something?
While Celia puts everything that seems valuable in her pack sack, you inspect the notes and ledgers scattered around. Most of them were design journals, but one of them seems heftier than the other. You open it up at a random page and start reading - you notice that you do recognize this handwriting.
After months of testing, it seems unlikely that anything can be done with the 745K-M4573R prototype we've built here, in this office of ours. The AI doesn't respond to x/y/z coordinates the way we're expecting, and fixing its programming is beyond our financial means. Maybe the idea of building an autonomous robot in a parking garage with hopes, dreams and a box of scraps was a little too ambitious, even for us.
Shep's putting in lots of hours to double-check the programming, trying to figure out what anomaly is causing us grief, but I doubt we can manage to complete this project in time for the Masquerade.
There is another solution we can consider for our master plan, and I didn't think it would come to this, but if we want to achieve our goal, we can't exactly sit on our hands.
However, it gets us a lot closer to danger than I would have liked. Blackmoon does not like interlopers, but I feel - we all feel - that if we don't strike now, there might not be another opportunity. I feel that if we...
The rest of the page was torn. You flip the pages quickly, and see a couple sketches of HLPR Bots optimisation designs, calculations, and a few rambles, but nothing substantial. Seems like you got lucky. You pocket the book.
Oh, that's sharp. I think we might be done here, you wanna go back upstairs, or you wanna push to the lower floors?
