Creating The Sky Realm Was Easy

Religious, or Gio as he was known in his mortal days, was once a farmer when Astrinet had gotten its start. He never quite knew how he got there but assumed it had something to do with those two goat girls in the sky that often checked in on him and many other citizens. Over time they seemed to stop visiting so much but he assumed that was because the world was well and seemed to work in harmony. Gio had a hard time remembering his part for the most part as it felt like it happened many lifetimes ago. Did he have a wife? Children? He knew he grew corn and potatoes. He knew he owned a most humble little home in the middle of these fields. He remembered his hair being long and blonde, much like it is now. He was able to recall the very last time he slept in his warm bed and smelled the sweet sunshine... He did not recall having many friends then either aside from one man he remembered meeting at the bar. Gio wondered whatever happened to him. Did he suffer a similar fate like himself? He hoped to see that gentleman again one day though cannot remember his name for the life of him! He hoped he was not at the site that ended up ripping Gio's peaceful life away. He did not like remembering that day. The quick flash of light, the rumble in the distance, the cloudy wall that approached him far too fast...
He shook himself from such negativity. There was no time for such things here in his new home. Well, new to many others, not so new to him. Gio recalled awakening to floating here on these strange clouds. They were solid and able to be easily shaped. He remembered the surprise he felt when he observed himself and found that he had turned into a giant winged snake. While he had been quite terrified by snakes he was happy to keep his blonde hair! Unfortunately that didn't help him in understanding why such a thing had occurred or why he was even here in the clouds. He should have perished when that awful wall of smoke tore through his home, no? Was this what the afterlife truly was? He had begun to ponder when he heard a familiar voice.

"Hello, little Gio."
"Star? Is that you?"
"Sure is hon!"
"Oh man am I glad to hear your voice Starsuka. Where am I? What am I?"
"Slow down now, I'll answer one question at a time, okay?"
"Okay ma'am."

Starsuka was able to answer all of his questions. Apparently he was chosen by the goat gals to become some sort of leader for a realm they called "Solaris". They hadn't really found anyone good enough for this role until he came along. His kindness and humble attitude had been taken into consideration when making this decision. It was solidified when his town had been the target of an attack from a cult called Paradise Lost and he had lost his life due to their meddling. Star didn't want such a good soul to go to waste so she was able to "create" him a body to transfer into. She was also happy he was thrilled about keeping his hair intact as it had been the hardest part to replicate! Together they had discussed the future for Solaris. Gio would become its leader and creator as Star showed him how to shape the clouds into buildings. By taking the golden scales that made up his pattern and melting them down, he could create a gilded effect wherever he desired and so he used this to make the marbled halls of these buildings. He would have to populate this place with people he deemed worthy and so she taught him how to transfer souls into new vessels. Gio's very first was a man named Salvador and he had been an artist who was forced to participate in creating propaganda about some kind of war. He had unfortunately gotten into an accident and had perished. He found this man worthy since the accident seemed to be no fault of his own and he was forced to participate in something that Gio deemed vile. Starsuka was proud of his progress and made sure to let him know it. To never give up even when the times feel tough! When she was finished teaching him all he needed to know, she disappeared and he hasn't heard a word from her since. He hoped she was okay and perhaps one day would visit to see his progress over the years. Things had changed so much these days and it was getting harder to find any worthy souls to turn into Guardians without that awful cult interfering. His most recent was an unruly young adult who seemed to be largely uninterested in trying to be an active member of the community in some way. In fact, the lad seemed far more interested in aggravating him by rebelling in the strangest ways! At least Gio was able to pair him up with someone who wouldn't put up with such nonsense. He wouldn't have considered such a soul if he hadn't been so desperate for some good help. Recent events have caused him to make exceptions and add more souls to help with defense of Solaris, even if they weren't weapon inclined. Salvador seemed to be the only one good at brandishing a weapon. Everyone else had their strengths of course but Gio was unsure if they'd make it should a full out invasion occur. Paradise Lost was getting bold and there was some rouge entity that was trying to gain access to their little home though he didn't understand why. This creature was the cause of at least one of the souls ending up here. He could try to fight himself but he feared he would cause damage to Solaris if he moved so much as a hair wrong. His body had been wound in these clouds so long he knew the foundation was unstable without his body there. Many worries would rush through his brain as he would try to make plans for defense. In these times Star's words would echo to him and help him take a deep breath.

"Do not give up, even when times are rough. You will get through it, I promise. Keep that chin up hon!"

Salvador Dali

The very first resident to a newly created Soalris. Dali is the only other one aware of Starsuka's existence and was told to keep her a secret along with Gio. At first he wasn't sure if he wanted to remain in this realm but over time Gio grew on him and the pair became close. Gio reminds Dali of some siblings in his past life and became determined to keep the fella safe, even if he were the size of a city or two! Maybe more! Dali always thanks his snake brother for allowing his mate to also have a second chance as the two can now live together happily when they were not allowed to do so in their past life.

Starsuka

One of two celestial goats that created the world of Astrinet, a place that Gio was transported to via unknown means. She kept her eye on him when he was a mortal and made sure he was comfortable with his life before disappearing. She always had faith in him. When he had perished after the cult of Paradise Lost had destroyed his town, Starsuka managed to create him a body to transfer his soul into and taught Gio how to do the same. She disappeared once again much to Gio's disappointment and he truly hopes she's okay. If that awful cult has anything to do with her going missing, well it won't end well for them.

Disciple

An owl that Gio had taken pity on after the disaster that happened in Coalfell. He was able to keep her body mostly intact even though a huge metal fence had pinned her down and damaged her severely. He was unable to find her mate or family and he feels incredibly guilty about it despite her telling him it's okay. Over the years, Gio's voice had given out and thus he uses telepathy to speak with her on the odd occasion. No one knows they can do this though, not even Dali. She reminds him of Star and likes to listen to her talk about whatever is on her mind at the time.
