I am spirited because my inner child is alive within me. She is not lost, she is not buried beneath endless layers, nor was she left behind, long ago in which I cannot remember.

My child self is not a distant memory, coming from a time that was happy… A time that was carefree and vibrant, with colors so endless some had no name.

I do not look back on my past with a longing for my child self… Because she is still present within me.

She never left.

With all my heart, I made sure of that. I grasped this child who was me and never lost my grip on all of who she was.

Letting go of this piece of myself, this piece of my soul, was something I feared to imagine. A nightmare taking root in my reality.

Life without the existence of my imagination would not be a life. I need my inner world, you see, in order to survive this reality.
