Ain't That a Kick in the Head

Woke up to the sound of an unfamiliar voice and the smell of dust and coffee. Had no doubt in my mind that the coffee would taste like boiled dirt.
My vision was blurry for a few seconds and my skull pounded like it had been torn apart and taped back together.
Turns out I wasn't too far off.
The doc that patched me up said that some cowboy securitron had been moseying by when some men shot me in the head and dumped me in a hole. Concerned about me for some reason, the bucket of bolts dug me up and carted my sorry ass off to Goodspring. I'm sure it wasn't out of the kindness of it's cog heart, but the doc says otherwise.
Now, I don't remember none of that. Course, I don't remember much of anything before waking up in the good doc's house anyway. The only thing I do remember is very clear: a giant green dinosaur.
The doc tells me there's a town called Novac not too far from Goodsprings that has themselves a green dino.
I'll be headed that way once I'm healed enough to make the trek. Til then, folks around here will have to get used to seeing me around. They're friendly though. They call me Novac on account of I can't remember my actual name. The doc thinks it'll come back to me with time.
For now, I'll be gathering supplies and getting what information I can about the night I almost took the long dirt nap.
Then I'm gonna find the sum'bitch that shot me in the head.
