The characters of the demonverse are physical manifestations of the urges, desires, and emotions of human beings. They were born from the echoes of magical energy released by humans engaging with supernatural forces. Although they represent many different aspects of humanity, those who represent darker or more shameful feelings are banished to the edges of the world and scorned as demons.
Valentyne was created by the reverberation of insatiable appetite. The greedy proprietor of a popular confectionary once turned to magical means in his selfish pursuit of plenty. When hungry wayward children stared desperately through the glass windows and filled the air with their sad, empty pining, the energy of his attempt birthed a new being. This creature knew no bounds of its gluttony, and forever wandered in desire of the most delectable, tooth-rotting, soul-filling sweets. Thinking that his magic yielded no result, the selfish man of means did not even realize what had transpired. The townspeople were disgusted by the beast, who angered them with its sinful voraciousness. This abomination was cast away as a devil and left to wander the wilds in search of sustenance.
It was not until two spirits of the wilds found him hiding within a cave and took him in, that he knew true kindness. The beings dubbed him Valentyne and declared him a most valued friend. To this day, they still exist peacefully within the wilds, welcoming those who will reciprocate kindness to share a cup of tea. Some say that you can smell the sweet aroma of cinnamon and butter wafting from miles away
