A toy is witness to many things, and Wintyr the chubby stuffed Noktoa is no different. Passing through many hands and many hearts, Wintyr has seen the good, the bad, and the better in those she has come to love. She has even seen the absolute worst: the tantrums. Shouting. Scrapes and bruises and a torn seam or two. But of everything a beloved toy may see, the most important is hope.
But what is an inanimate thing to do with that?
Nothing, truly. Except this inanimate thing was not the only being to take notice. In fact the soft whispers of secrets, of pain and infantile sadness, pricked the ears of something else entirely; and this was the day that Wintyr’s eyes gained their familiar sparkle. A breath of magic. A breath of life. This was the day that the toy was no longer a toy, but the vessel of a playful little sunrise spirit known as Ekhi... and home to all the warmth she brought with her.
