In the misty valleys , there is a saying among the elders:
“Luck does not fall from the sky. It walks softly, in scales of red and hair of gold.”
And that is how Horaxis lived.
Horaxis was a small dragon born from a fragment of a wishing star, too gentle to become fire, too soft to become storm.
Instead, he became something rarer - a carrier of small fortune.
But his magic did not work like people expected.
Horaxis could not create miracles.
He only… corrected tiny imbalances in the world.
When someone lost a coin, it was not “created” by magic. It simply returned to where it had always been meant to fall.
When a broken pot became whole again, it was because Horaxis gently restored the moment before it had cracked, like turning a page back in a book that was read too quickly.
And when a lonely heart suddenly felt warmer, it was not magic that changed emotions, it was Horaxis sitting somewhere nearby, aligning the quiet threads between people so they could remember they were not alone.
One day, a young monk in a mountain temple noticed something strange.
Every morning, small things were slightly… better than they should be.
A candle that never burned out too fast.
Rice that always cooked perfectly.
A bell that rang exactly when the wind needed it to.
So he waited.
And one night, he finally saw him.
A tiny cute dragon curled on the temple roof, gently nudging the air itself as if arranging invisible threads only he could see.
“Are you a god?” the monk whispered.
Horaxis tilted his head and sneezed softly.
A lantern below flickered, not broken, not fixed… just perfectly steady for the first time that night.
The dragon looked confused by the question. The monk had received no answer from the little dragon, but he realized it himself.
Then the little Dragon simply flew on, because there was always somewhere slightly out of balance.
And that was his purpose.
Not to change fate.
But to let it settle into its gentlest shape.
