Raenar(or Rae for short) is the king of Yewen. His wife is Ari. Despite being king, Raenar holds no real joy in owning the title. He sees it as duty and duty alone. Very rarely does he sit on the throne as it brings back terrible memories of the time his father led the kingdom.

Yewen is a kingdom powered by black crystal(also called netherspark to the rest of Kratyr). All buildings are made of ebony stonework. Crystals are often seen growing up the sides of them, each home emitting a magic aura that resonates through out the area. It is said that when you enter Yewen for the first time, the first thing you notice is the strong sense of magic that flows in the air due to the crystals.

The populace of Yewen are known as the Yewnites. They speak Yewn. For many years a civil war was waged within Yewen, all stemmed by Raenar's father _____. Raenar grew tired of all the unnecessary fighting and created an uprising, eventually killing his sire, and claiming the throne as his own. He ended the war and vowed to restore Yewen to it's former glory. Sadly because of the reputation his father had made for the Yewnites, most kingdoms were wary and wanted nothing to do with Yewen.
