Don't let it look at you. Don't let it look at you. Don't let it look at you. Don't let it look at you. Don't let it look at you.

Panicked and hushed voices filled the small quarters of Calypso mall as paramedics arrive on scene, parting through the growing crowd.
"Its happened again." "This is how they all start it seems." " Don't go near them."
Voices build to shreiks and wails as the people in the front get a good look at the latest victim, while the ones in the back lean and crane their necks.
You manage to push through to the parting line as people move to make way for the stretcher coming through.
You wait with horrid anticipation as people gasp in front of you.
You've seen many accidents. It's natural life after all. But they've never showed a full on look at what condition these certain victims bodies looked like on the news or papers.
You were stopped dead in your thoughts as the stretcher was brought past you.
It was the worst most horrifying condition you've ever seen a human in. You want to run but its like a compulsion to take in what has been happening. As if, by seeing finally, with your own eyes, all these incidents would somehow make sence.

Don't let it look at you.

Gathering your nerves you take in as much as you can.
The skin seemed decayed and vainy, a bluish grey hue, tinted with green and dark blue splotches on what flesh was shown. It was a girl it seemed. Her hair falling whichever way her mangled corpse would let it.
Her arms were twisted in a way that no one could mistake for not being broken, one arm up and contorted around the side of her body, the other, palm open and bent to an unnatural "z" shape under her. The spine and body twisted and arched, the clothes, stain free and bright, following the forms underneath spiraled and twisted shape.

You look back up to her face and regret it instantly.
At just the right angle, through her hair you could see her whole face perfectly. It matched the tone of the arms and legs. Except around the mouth. It seemed raw and stretched to a gaping scream. The whole inside of the mouth was black and crusted, the skin around it pulled unnaturally to the left side of her face.
You seize up as you lock eyes with her. The glossy dead gaze seemed to follow you as it passed. No pupils to be found, but a terrifying feeling that she was looking at you somehow.

Don't let it look at you.

You couldn't take anymore and spun around, pushing through the crowds towards one of the store doors. On wobbly legs you ease yourself down on one of the benches near the wall.
A couple beside you was gossiping about the scene, sharing photos they have taken. You resist the urge to puke, the feeling of fight or flight persistent.
You put your head in your hands and close your eyes, trying to block out the disturbing images.
Breathing in a few long shaky breaths of air , you decide to finally go home. You couldn't continue with your day even if you tried.

Opening your eyes you instinctively lurch back as you see a horrid , cat-like creature scuttling around a ways in font of you. You glance at the couple beside you to find they are no longer there.
It seemed as though all sound was drained, it was unnaturally quiet except for the thing shifting and scuttling on an almost similar styled posture as the girl.
Panicked you don't let it leave your sight. Like a deer in headlights you hold your breath, hoping it doesn't see you.

Don't let it look at you.

The fur was a weird grey and blue hue, you couldnt make out its face as it was pointed away from you, but your gut feeling said you didn't want to see it anyways. It spassmed and twisted it's head sharply to the ceiling, its body motionless and stiff, before speeding off like a lighting fast bug towards a shifted bag blowing from the stores ac.

You were reminded of where you were by its breif distraction and stole a quick glance towards where the crowd was. You stare in perplexion as the entire crowd was no longer there. Taking a few more glances around, you are entirely alone.
A sudden feeling of dread overcomes you.

DON'T DON'T DON'T.

You turn back to the creature to find it was closer to you now. And what was worse. It's face locked on to yours. Your heart races as you stare it down. You feel in every inch of your body that you're staring death in it's face.
The body horror and large unblinking pearlesc eyes and sheer size of it being so close is even more unnerving. It's much much bigger than a large cat. Almost child sized with twitching, human-like hands to match.

It remains motionless and posed toward you, as if waiting for you to do something.
Stifleing the urge to scream as the air felt thick, and its dead gaze intensifying, you hurridly try and decide what to do, your beating heart racing as the dread intensifies.

As if sencing your motives it lets out an eerie sound that seemed to be of a cat and a young boys voice wailing together.

Your eyes widen as it lunges at you with alarming speed, you raise an arm to defend yourself but it goes rate through as it comes inches from your face, the world seemed to slow down, and the colors seemed to fade, and it dissapears into a putrud haze.
Almost hyperventilating, you clutch your chest and look around.
It doesn't take long before white hot pain sends you back into heavy panic. You yell out as your wrist begins throbbing. Pulling back your sleeve you expose a bruised hand print of a child, tender and dark blue.

The mark.

This pet is dedicated to my love for horror movies and certain thrillers. It's also a dedication to my cat Ripley, for all the creepy things he does and did when growing up. <3
