It fell from the sky into Melemele Meadow one day. The inhabitants had never seen such a large muscular red bug before. Was this foreign creature a friend or foe?

The red bug stood up and looked around, confused by its new surroundings. It was different from the jungle it called home. Instead of densely packed trees with hanging vines, there was an expansive field of small yellow flowers. It plucked one of the flowers and poked it with its probiscus. The aroma was pleasant and sweet, but the small size made it insufficient as an energy source. The pollen tickled the bug's probiscus. It sneezed, causing the petals to explode off the flower.

One of the Cutiefly flew up to the large red bug and looked at it curiously. The bug returned the curious stare and struck a pose. The Cutiefly had no idea what it meant but thought it amusing and giggled. The other inhabitants came out of hiding and swarmed up to the stranger. The red bug felt overwhelmed by its new audience at first, then it continued to strike a series of poses. No one had any idea what it was communicating, but it did not appear to be a threat at the moment. They welcomed the red bug as a new friend.

The Buzzwole remained in Melemele Meadow as its new home, flitting with the Cutiefly and Butterfree. The Pokemon of Melemele Meadow loved the Buzzwole and even made flower crowns for it. The Buzzwole was kind, but it also had a tenacity for battle and liked to show off its immense strength. It became the meadow's protector by fending off unwanted bird Pokemon that preyed off the smaller bugs. Upon defeating its opponent, it grabbed hold of the loser, stabbed its long probiscus through them, and drained their energy dry. However, it took its duties as protector too seriously and attacked unsuspecting Pokemon Trainers entering the field as well. Its strength was too much, and it overpowered the Trainers easily, causing them to flee for their lives. Melemele Meadow became too dangerous for people to enter. For weeks, tourist bureaus regretfully informed people the field was closed off to visitors due to this sudden threat. No humans dared to venture into the flowers, fearing for their life.

One day, a trainer entered the flower field, the first in a long time. With a burst of speed, the Buzzwole immediately confronted the human, but there was something different in this human compared to the pushovers in the past. The Buzzwole sensed this human had faced many tough challenges and overcame a great deal of trials. This trainer had emerged victorious against numerous opponents that very few could defeat; this trainer was strong.

The human looked back at the Buzzwole with a steely conviction in their eyes; it seemed this trainer knew of the Buzzwole's presence and was specifically seeking it. This trainer may provide an actual fight, one where the Buzzwole could finally display its full strength. The thought of this excited the Buzzwole.

The Buzzwole flexed loudly and emanated a fierce aura, ready for battle.
