Millions of years ago, or could we even say, hundreds of millions ago, when there were no separate continents, there were dragons. This was the era of dragons. There were no other living things, heck oceans didn't even exist during this time period. Earth was just a giant chunk of floating rock, that had circled the sun. The only living things on earth was the elemental fire dragon and the water dragon.

Now during this time period, the earth wasn't yet habitable for other life forms. But the dragons did not need to breathe oxygen, nor eat to survive. Rather, they just existed. Like many typical stories, these two dragons started out as friends. They were alone and did not know why they were there. But they did not need to know at this time, why they existed, for they had each other for company. Truly, this was a time period of peace and growth - as the water dragon provided water and the fire dragon gave the Earth warmth.

With the water and heat provided by the dragons, gradually oceans came to exist. Lakes would arise whenever the water dragon was bored and ponds would spontaneously appear whenever he sneezed. On the other hand, other landforms and diversity came upon Earth's terrain. Should the fire dragon breathe his fiery breath, the land would dry out - leading to the formation of the desert. If he was trying to test his flames, he would blow at a mountains center, trying to burn it down. He would never succeed, but ended up creating what we all know today as volcanos.

Soon enough, forms of life would come to exist. Those that survive, took command of particular niches and lived in symbiosis with other living creatures. It was during this time period that the two dragons came to a disagreement. Both sides had taken claim to the planet, claiming that they it was they that contributed more to the beautification and diversity of earth's terrain. Despite this small little hiccup, they were still friends in the end, and would hang out with each other as they did over time.

As humans came to exist, millions of years later, the grudge between the two had grown. Whenever one would lay claim to a certain territory, the other would revert the landscape to their own. For example, the fire dragon's desert would be sprayed with water when he was not looking, resulting in luscious meadows or in more extreme cases marshes. If either dragon found out, the grudge would grow bigger, and they would retaliate by doing something similar.

Their friendship soon came to an end when one day a brave man had asked "Between the two of you, who is the greatest?". An argument truly broke out, and their flames and waves began directing at the other. During the fights for dominance, more extreme weather patterns would occur. Hurricanes would arise out of no where, thunderstorms began to come and go, and snow blizzards shut down the daily lives of earth's inhabitants. Temperatures and climate differences soon fluctuated over the year as the water and fire dragons claimed their territories.

Years and years of fighting had torn these two apart. Well that was until, the final day of the struggle of power between the two. In a final showdown, they had finally aimed their powers at each other - both sides unrelenting. The habitants of earth stayed indoors, fearful for the end of the world as they had known. As the fire hit the water, mist started to spray everywhere. Steam arose from the center of the two. Neither side was about to relent to the other. Rather, they became increasingly motivated and put more energy and focus into this fight. That was until the growing ball of steam had turned into a cyclone in between the two.

The cyclone had grown and grown in size, prompting them to stop, in hopes of preventing the massive whirlwind from wiping out all life that had appeared. Unfortunately, this was too late. The cyclone had grown much too large but stayed in the same place with the guidance of the two dragons. It persisted for 10 days and 10 nights before it showed any signs of stopping.

On eve of the first night, the cyclone had disappeared instantly. Where the giant windstorm had besieged the terrain laid another dragon - but one that was made of air.

"Time and wind never leave anything alone."
