His Royal Highness Prince Herover
more to come
more to come
Prince, wizard, dashing rogue, philosopher. His accolades ranged across the height of aristocracy and power, until the one he would name last... Coward.
Herover was his name. In ages past, this had been a word ascribed to a great champion, or acclaimed adventurer, or a famous king. He had not earned this title. Instead, Herover inherited it in its second meaning - just a name, common to men in his family. The royal family. His great uncle had been the last, a Herover who had gone on to win thrones and glory for himself and begin a new line of kings in a foreign land. This latest edition, though yet young, was not looking like he would amount to as much stature.
None of the court understood his fear of ruling despite all appearances of being adept in it. Herover was an accomplished swordsman and an even better sorcorer, with wit to match his combat expertise and a fondness for courtly intrigue; however, to see him sitting on a throne, or even in the same room as one, was a rare enough sight that most of the kingdom found it a running joke.
No, Herover spent most of his time avoiding responsibilities and dreaming of eschewing them.
