CONCEPT: Evil Clown-like doll that never sleeps or speaks. He watches the world carefully and quietly,
Tip tap, tip tap, tip tap.... Then silence. The room seemed to be still, like the pausing of a dramatic vintage film. It was dim and gray, shadows were cast everywhere and powerful silence filled the air.
Nothing seemed unusual however, it looked like a normal little boy's bedroom. There were mementos that filled the shelves, legos scattered about the floor, and a twin sized bed that was neatly made and tucked in at the sides. A large pillow laid on top of the red and white checkered comforter and a cheery wooden bedframe held baseball caps on the smooth footboard end caps. There was a large "sporty" area rug that gave the room character. Soccer and baseball posters were neatly plastered on the pastel blue walls. White freshly painted baseboards followed the brand new carpet along the perimeter.
On the shelves sat several little league trophies, some of which were "participation awards." Framed family photos, photo albums, vacation souvenirs, and stuffed animals that looked like they could use a dusting all sat in an orderly fashion. And then there was this lone doll; a clown doll. He sat slumped and still. His eyes were of small black beads, the size of tiny raisins. His mouth, small and firm; filled with plenty of small teeth and a set of larger bottom fangs. None of which you could really "see." His body was built like an overweight troll, short stubby legs and a large belly; filled with fluff and beans so he may sit upright and "observe his surroundings" as the little boy described it. He had thin wobbly arms stitched out from his sides. His hands very well built and looked like those of an old witch. His head, round and well portioned to his overall body. He had a stubby nose, tiny ears, and bright red human hair stitched to the sides of his head.
His name was Juggles; Juggles the clown. And boy did this little boy love his clown. His parents seemed slightly concerned that their son would give such a sick looking toy so much personality and love. It was as if Juggles actually walked around and spoke real words to their seven year old son. William loved Juggles and Juggles "loved" William.
The curtains were drawn which helped create the eerie shadows that kept everything very quiet.
