"For the LAST TIME: I don't do love potions!" Lysandrus tossed the small burlap sack full of coins onto the table, causing some of its contents to slide out.

The middle-aged woman standing on the opposite side of the table stared at the bag and then at Lysandrus with hurt and confusion in her eyes.

"But...but...I heard Matilda bragging about the one you made for her. How it saved her marriage and-"

The wizard interrupted her with an exasperated sigh. "That wasn't a love potion. At least not the kind you're asking me for. What I gave her was a medicine that enhanced the love and passion that was already there. Many mistake it for a mere aphrodisiac but it goes much deeper." The tinge of sadness in his voice changed to anger when he remembered the reason for the woman's visit. "What you are asking me for, madam, is a mind-control potion and I will have no part of it!" He then pointed toward the moss-covered door to his cottage. "Please leave and never bother me with such a request again."

With an angry huff, the woman gathered her moneybag and stomped out of the shop. She'd likely go to her friends and tell them he was a fraud who couldn't brew tea let alone a love potion. But it didn't matter. For every customer lost there were ten more lining up at his door. It wasn't the first time he had to throw out an unreasonable patron and it wouldn't be the last.
