The sad truth was, she just didn't have what it took.

Suffice it to say that even though TwilightMist was an angel antlephore, she did not have any of the grace that is associated with angels. In fact, TwilightMist was possibly the clumsiest antlephore that lived. She often crash-landed after a flight and got her antlers stuck in trees. She slipped and fell on slippery and icy surfaces. As a result, she was deemed "too risky" to be a flight reindeer on Lumineve.

The news devastated TwilightMist and made her feel as if she was cursed. TwilightMist's clumsiness had been a big impact on her throughout her life. People tended to refuse her offers to help them with certain tasks and occasionally avoided her altogether because she was so clumsy. TwilightMist had believed that joining the reindeer team would be the first step in getting her clumsiness under control. She knew that pulling a sleigh required a lot of special training and discipline, but TwilightMist thought that doing the required training would ultimately transform her into a nimble and sturdy antlephore. In TwilightMist's mind, that was far better than being a klutz who basically damaged or ruined anything she touched.

The peaceful snowy landscape that was around her now did not do much to improve Twilight’s mood. The pine trees were wrapped in a graceful cloak of ice and snow. The frozen lake gleamed beautifully in the moonlight. TwilightMist sighed and waved her right hoof across the snow. As she did so, the snow rose up and began to swirl around in the air, as if it was doing a dance. Slowly the dancing snow took the shape of a snowman. TwilightMist walked up to her new creation and placed some pebbles on the snowman to serve as eyes and a nose. After several seconds, the snowman blinked its eyes and looked at TwilightMist with a curious look on its face. TwilightMist’s mood brightened a little but she did not smile.

Surprisingly enough, TwilightMist had the spectacular ability to create snowmen that would come to life! The talent had first manifested itself when the antlephore was a wee toddler. One day while her family was in the snow, TwilightMist’s mother noticed that a pile of snow had mysteriously appeared beside little Twilight. TwilightMist placed some pebbles on the pile of snow to make a face, and started skipping around the snow pile. Much to everyone’s shock, the snow pile started to move! Ever since then, TwilightMist had been creating living snowmen that brought wonder and amazement to all.

TwilightMist created two more snowmen. One had the shape of a cybill while the other was shaped like a popoko. These new snow creatures instantly noticed the previously created snowman and began to interact with each other. The cybill poked the first snowman’s face while the first snowman tried to use its head to touch the popoko snowman’s tail. Eventually all three snowmen had decided to move onto the frozen lake. Due to not having skates, the snowmen slipped and fell several times on the icy lake. They did not suffer any injuries however, due to being made of soft snow.

A couple of days later, TwilightMist was grazing on some grass sticking out of the snow when she heard sounds of laughter. The antlephore turned her head and saw several pets playing in the snow. An aqua anyu, a dawn clawsion, and a Spectrum hippotu were playfully wrestling each other. A nostalgic bovyne stood a short distance away from the other three pets, apparently using a stick to make drawings in the snow. TwilightMist noticed that the bovyne kept looking at the other three pets playing. The bovyne finally chose to leap into the ongoing wrestling match among the other pets. Everything was fine until a loud ripping sound was heard.

TwilightMist was horrified by what she saw next. The nostalgic bovyne had ripped off half of her back right leg! The nostalgic bovyne began to cry. The aqua anyu mouthed some words and quickly took off. Neither of the two remaining pets knew what to do.

TwilightMist began to rush towards the other pets, but at the midway point the antlephore tripped over a rock hidden by the snow. The spectrum hippotu was trying to reassure the nostalgic bovyne that everything would be fine when TwilightMist rolled forward, tossing some snow on the other pets in the process!

TwilightMist stood up and saw looks of confusion on the faces of the pets before her. There was several seconds of silence. Finally, TwilightMist gathered up her courage and used her powers to create a snow antlephore. A few seconds later, the snow antlephore blinked its eyes and looked curiously at the bovyne, hippotu, and clawsion. All three pets looked on with amazement and bewilderment.

TwilightMist then started to do a prancing routine that she had seen other antlephore do. She motioned to the snow antlephore to follow her lead. The snow antlephore obeyed and mimicked TwilightMist’s movement. The dance captivated all of the other pets.

By this point, the aqua anyu had returned with medical professionals who could give the nostalgic bovyne the proper first aid. As the nostalgic bovyne was placed on a stretcher and carried away, TwilightMist caught a glimpse of a smile on the bovyne’s face. Several hours after the broken leg incident, TwilightMist was reminiscing about what had happened as well as all the other times throughout her life she had used her powers to cheer up others. The memories flooding through her mind caused TwilightMist to have an epiphany. She might not be able to bring joy as a Lumineve reindeer, but she could still bring joy to others using what she had: her talent to bring snowmen to life. TwilightMist began to feel the disappointment of the past slowly melt away. She smiled and flew into the chilly winter sky.

Did you ever notice a snowman that mysteriously appeared where it wasn’t before? Have you seen shadowy figures dance on the icy lake lit by the moonlight? Have you ever suddenly heard the crying of a child turn into laughter?

It might just mean….

That a very special antlephore is near.
