Welcome, would you like a cup of coffee?
I really love coffee. A hot cup is so very common, but it's rarely done right. If you're interested, I have a bit of advice that might increase your love of it too.
1. It isn't just for morning, and it isn't just to give you a boost. You should always really enjoy what you're drinking. If the caffeine doesn't affect your sleep, a cup after dinner with a little dessert is absolutely wonderful!
2. This might offend some people, but dark roast is literally burnt coffee beans. Typically done because it creates a less acidic or bitter coffee, it's the cheap and easy way. However, a quality bean, lightly roasted with care (sometimes previously fermented) can be perfectly smooth and incredibly deep in flavour.
3. Always have coffee on hand. There's something really civilized about being able to make a cup whenever you wish, and you never know when you might have unexpected guests.
4. Coffee really should be accompanied with something to eat. Cinnamon rolls, ginger cakes, or chocolate cookies are some of my favourite coffee sides. If you're looking for something a bit healthier try a banana!
5. Don't go too crazy with what you add to your coffee. Heavily flavoured syrups or creamers mask the coffee flavour, you may as well just add them to hot water! A splash of cream, and maybe a bit of honey, should be all you need to enjoy your cup to the fullest. If you want a bit of something different, try adding a tiny bit if cardimom to the grounds, or use coconut cream instead of regular cream.
*sip sip* ahhh....
